generation of TX Series Models


The Large Format Solutions Division is excited to announce the expansion of its award winning
imagePROGRAF line-up with the 36-inch TZ-30000 & TZ-30000 MFP Z36 models. The TZ Series has been
designed with many “Canon First” technologies built in: Twin carriage motors power speeds as fast
as 4D sized prints a minute, an integrated top stacker utilizes an air flow system and a dual roll
media system features intelligent media handling, making it a powerful new addition to Canon’s
portfolio of large format printers. The next generation of TX Series printers have been upgraded
with many of the new technologies developed for the TZ Series, for greatly improved productivity
and efficiency.

The TZ Series seizes and expands the production aqueous inkjet market with its ability to print
black and white line drawings and full color posters on multiple media substrates that LED devices
are unable to support. This hybrid model is uniquely qualified to capture market share where
overall print volumes are trending lower and the need to get more out of a machine is a business
necessity. Built with production, efficiency, and versatility in mind, this printer delivers up to
244 D-sized prints per hour via faster processing speeds with the implementation of parallel
processing combined with increased carriage and cutter speed. To enhance operator usability, the
intelligent media handling system automatically feeds the media and then detects the width and
type, as well as measure the remaining media amount. Media can be loaded in the second roll, while
the other roll is printing – A Canon first! The stacker, which is positioned on the top front
portion of the printer, can accommodate up to 100 Arch E
size plain paper prints, with face-down stacking for added confidentiality. The LUCIA

TD pigment inks, creative software, and water resistant media makes it a versatile system that can
create colorful posters, signs and banners.

Highlights of the TZ-30000 Series include:

• Speed – 14 sec/D, 4 D/min, 244 D/hour
o The ability to output the 1st print from the ready state in 19 second allows the TZ to print 5 D
sheets before the competition wakes up from sleep mode
o Utilizes twin carriage motors
• Stacking – Integrated 100 sheet top stacker
o Air flow system keeps prints neatly in place
o Face down stacking for confidentiality
• Media Handling – Dual roll system with advanced features
o Intelligent media handling for auto media loading with type, width, and length detection
o Remaining paper length display indicator /LED light display indicates paper is running low
o Load 2nd roll while the printer is printing on other roll with the Smart Roll Set
• MFP Option – New TZ Scanner Co-developed by Canon and Global Scanning
o 6ips Color; 13ips Monochrome scan speeds
o Large 15.6” Touchscreen System Controller

• Software – Enhanced workflow solutions available including
o TZ Printer Driver and CPP Driver Select
o Direct Print Plus
o CPP Publisher Select

Targeting devices that can output at speeds of 6 D/min or slower in the field, the TZ Series
includes many Canon new and existing technologies. With a compact printer design and ergonomic
stacker positioned lower and closer to the user, all functions can be completed from the front of
the printer. Additional features include Hot Swap ink tanks, the ability to mix and match 330 or
700ml inks and full bleed borderless printing

on all media widths. Standard with the TZ Large-Format printers is Direct USB thumb drive printing
and a catch basket for when printing to other substrates than plain
paper. When not in use, the basket can simply be folded into the storage drawer. With security
looming large in today’s business environment, the TZ Series include the following enhanced
security features:

• DoD Compliant - Self-Encrypting Hard Disk with AES 256
• HDD secure disk erasure
• Ability to disable various interfaces (Ethernet, USB, etc.)
• Encrypted Secure PIN Printing
• Enhanced Encryption Communications
• Network Security (SNMP v3, IPSec, TLS/SSL, 802.1x Compatibility)
• Features of uniFLOW Release Station built into the printer

The printer can also be bought as a powerful Scan-to Copy/File system. The TZ-30000 MFP Z36 allows
users to scan and print at the same time, making it an extremely productive system. The new TZ
scanner needs no warm up time with instant return from sleep. The new system controller has been
vastly improved and includes a Solid State Drive, 8GB RAM, i3 Core Processor, Windows 10 Embedded
“Kiosk” Mode, eliminating frequent updates and new SmartWorks MFP v6 with a redesigned intuitive
user interface (UI).Highlights of the new TZ-30000 MFP Z36 System includes:

• High-speed scanning – 13ips for B&W
• High quality scanning at 1200dpi
• High productivity - print and scan at the same time
• A system controller with a large 15.6” touchscreen

SmartWorks software provides a wide variety of image editing and preview
functions. The SmartWorks scanning software enables the operator to easily execute large-format
scanning and copying from the touchscreen system controller. The user interface has been updated
with an Easy-to-Use icon based interface with customizable backgrounds and presets. Features
include

• Scan-to-Multipage PDF as a standard feature

• Real-time preview on the touchscreen
• Ability to scan to FTP

New and updated software has been made available for the TZ Series including Direct Print Plus
(DPP) job submission software, replacing Canon’s Direct Print & Share.
DPP’s processing speed improves the rendering process and the UI layout has been arranged to
incorporate an integrated setting menu. Additional available free software includes:

The TZ Series comes with a 90 day warranty which allows Authorized Servicers to create a true
service contract business model, which can open up additional revenue stream opportunities.
Installation of the models will be required from a service authorized technician, Canon will make
an eCarePAK installation option available.The new TX Series carries the same core technologies of
the previous models and has been upgraded with faster printing speeds, an enhanced automatic roll
loading function, and free-size borderless printing improve productivity and efficiency,
preprocessing technology between pages and a faster cutter speed achieve printing speeds up to 3.2
ppm (plain paper, drawings) during continuous printing. In addition, the automatic roll loading
function available from the current TX Series has been enhanced to mirror the capabilities of the
TZ roll loading feature. The MFP models are equipped with the newly developed Z36 scanner, which is
ergonomically designed to save space and reduce weight while delivering superb image quality at
incredible speeds. The MFP line up has a more integrated feel as an MFP, with a shorter installation time, and an improved AIO.


The TZ Series will be available to order as of April 15 and shipping will be mid-May. The TX Series
will be available to order later in April, another announcement will be sent out in the near future
with further details.
